IMCA Modifieds, SportMods, Stock Cars run at Yankee

first_imgFARLEY, Iowa (Aug. 27) – Three IMCA divisions see on-track action at Farley Speedway’s 41st annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic presented by Casey’s General Store Aug. 30-Sept. 1.The IMCA Modified feature pays $3,000 to win and is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot quali­fier. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $1,200 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $1,000.IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Iowa State points will be awarded. En­try fee and two-day tow is $100 for Modifieds, $50 for Northern SportMods and $40 for Stock Cars.Qualifying for the Stock Cars and an open practice session for the Modifieds and SportMods be­gins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.Friday action also gets underway with at 6:30 pm and will feature the double heat race format in both Modified and SportMod divisions. Fast dashes will also be run.On Saturday, Sept. 1, racing starts at 5:30 p.m. and will include last-chance qualifiers and main events. Registration open for Maine’s largest post-season basketball tournament

first_imgELLSWORTH — Harbor House Community Service Center in Southwest Harbor invites the girls’ and boys’ junior high and high school basketball teams to register for the 24th annual Great Harbor Shoot-Out basketball tournament.The tournament, a fundraiser for Harbor House, has become the largest post-season basketball tournament in Maine, with close to 90 teams participating last year from all around the state.The tournament will take place at area gymnasiums on Mount Desert Island and in Trenton and Ellsworth from Friday, March 18, through Sunday, March 20.
