Courtney Love Reveals Kurt Cobain Musical ‘Very Likely’

first_img View Comments Nirvana formed in 1987 and went on to establish itself as one of the most famous grunge bands in the world, releasing a number of successful songs like “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Heart-Shaped Box,” “About A Girl,” “Come As You Are” and “Lithium.” Love has been embroiled in several legal battles with the surviving members of the band over song rights. Why did Love change her tune? She revealed that she had been “swarmed by tons of Nirvana fanmail and social media posts pushing for a musical to become a reality.” The key to the production getting off the ground? Love said that “there would have to be a story, and a great story, one that hasn’t been told before.”center_img Broadway might be smelling like teen spirit! The Kurt Cobain bio-musical, which was reported to be in the works before the idea was quickly squashed by the late musician’s wife Courtney Love, is back on. Love spoke with NME as part of the magazine’s tribute to the Nirvana frontman and said that if she could get the right people involved “then a Broadway musical is very likely to happen.”last_img read more

CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan said CUNA is paying particularly close attention to the appropriations legislation on the floor this week, a large bill that includes 8 appropriations, including the financial services and general government (FSGG) appropriations bill.“The key things we’re looking at and paying attention to is funding levels for [Treasury’s] community Development Financial Institutions Fund, [NCUA’s] Community Development Revolving Loan Fund, regulatory relief provisions included in committee’s markup of FSGG and then the CUNA-opposed language that would subject NCUA to appropriations,” Donovan said. “We’ll be working with members of the House as they proceed through this legislation to ensure the things we support remain in the bill.”CUNA expects the Senate Appropriations FSGG subcommittee to pass its fiscal year 2018 spending bill next week, and the full committee is expected to pass the bill next week as week.last_img read more

I would certainly encourage you to dedicate at least a small portion of your time and energy to engage in pro bono work. The Legal Aid Clinic will be very glad for your assistance.”In admonishing the attorneys Mr Peter noted ethics and professionalism as personal characteristics which do not require legislation.Jeffrey Douglas-Murdock“Turning now to the issue of ethics and professionalism; these do not require legislation. They require personal discipline, responsibility and integrity, you either have them or you do not. Nobody, least of all a lawyer, needs a law to enable them to know that it is wrong to steal a client’s money or property. All lawyers know full well that they must not steal or otherwise inappropriately interfere with the money or the property or clients. You have been called today I am sure that without there being in place any law specifically addressed towards lawyers, you know the integrity that you should bring to the profession that you have now entered.”Nuraiyah SebastienMr. Peter further admonished the attorneys not to allow “greed and hubris to lead you astray” making reference to Proverbs 16: 18 as a guideline as well as the tenants of the noble profession of law. President of the Dominica Bar Association and Solicitor General Wynant Adrien-Roberts also offered words of admonition to the newly admitted members of the Bar to take pride in their work and balance their work with a healthy lifestyle, remembering not to abandon their family members or friends.Rene Butcher“I encourage you above all to maintain healthy interpersonal relationships and social activities. It is crucial for all of us to sustain a healthy lifestyle and strong ties with our family and friends. The law is a jealous lover and you may find yourself so enamored that you lose touch with the other important aspects of your life. I have every confidence though, that you will meet this challenge brilliantly.”Former attorney general Mr Henry Dyer told the attorneys that they should not be perturbed by the talk in the public sphere that there are too many lawyers, as “the world needs more lawyers than it is willing to accept”.Ernette KangalHe also instructed them to bear in mind the oaths which they just took to uphold the Constitution of Dominica; the supreme law of the land. All seven of the newly admitted attorneys recognized and thanked God, family members and friends for their success; two of whom were very emotional in expressing gratitude to their mothers. They also expressed great pleasure in joining what they referred to as this “noble profession” and promised to uphold its reputation.Dominica Vibes Newslast_img read more
