The win advanced the Crusaders (17-8-3) to next week’s Division V semifinals. Bell 72, University 50 Senior guard Josue Barrientos scored 17 points to help lift the top-seeded Eagles (20-6) to a L.A. City Section Invitational Division win over the Trojans. Barrientos hit three 3-pointers and grabbed six rebounds while point guard Ivan Zapeda added 16 points to help Bell overcome a six-point first quarter deficit. The Eagles hit on 20 of 26 free throws including seven late makes by Zapeda to put the game away. Bell will next face 11th-seeded Hamilton on March 3 at the L.A.
